NZEMA EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

A THREE (3) DAY OFFICIAL COMMUNITY VISIT AND SOD CUTTING CEREMONY BY THE MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Nzema East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Herbert Kuah Dickson accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency, Hon. Kofi Arkoh Nokoe, Hon. Assembly Members and key staff of the Assembly visited and engaged the chiefs and people of ten (10) communities for engagement and sod cutting ceremony from Tuesday, 20th to Thursday, 22nd January, 2026. The communities visited include; Assuowa and Abakpo, Sentum, Abrodiem, Tumentu, and Wiawso. The rest were Dibolase, Bekwase, Gyampele, Sikaneasem and Kutukrom.
The engagement intends to foster familiarization, ascertain developmental needs and to build closer relationship with the traditional authorities, opinion leaders, youth groups, civil society organizations and community members. The community visitation by the Chief Executive was climaxed with a grand durbar at the Kutukrom durbar grounds for a commemorative sod cutting ceremony for the construction of fourteen (14) infrastructural projects in the Municipality. The grand durbar was chaired by the Paramount Chief of Gwira Traditional Council, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan.
The sod cutting ceremonies captured the following infrastructural development projects within the year, 2026 with approval from the General Assembly and funding from the Central Government;
1. Construction of 1No. Cassava Processing Factory with 1 No. Mechanized Borehole with overhead tank at Apataim
2. Rehabilitation of 1No. CHPS Compound at Ewuku
3. Construction of 1No. CHPS Compound with Staff Accommodation and landscaping at Tumentu
4. Construction of 1 No. Six (6) Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facilities at Abrodiem
5. Completion of 1No. Health Center at Assuowa
6. Construction of 1 No. Six (6) Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facilities at Dibolase
7. Construction of 1 No. Six (6) Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facilities at Bekwase
8. Construction of 1 No. CHPS Compound with Staff Accommodation at Gyampele
9. Construction of 1 No. Police Station at Kutukrom
10. Construction of 1 No. Zonal Council Office at Kutukrom
11. Construction of 10 No. Mechanized Borehole within the Municipality
The Chiefs and the people were informed that, the Assembly has assigned eight (😎 of the above listed projects in the Gwira traditional area as a result of lack of infrastructural development in the enclave. He assured the gathering that the contractors for each project had been given eight (😎 months to complete so that they could be commissioned and handed over to the communities for use.
