MANAGEMENT MEETING WITH THE NEW MCE OF NZEMA EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY.

The Management of Nzema East Municipal Assembly organized its first meeting on Tuesday, 29rd April, 2025 at the Assembly Conference Room. The agenda for the meeting led by Mr. Emmanuel K. Asamoah (the MCD) was to officially introduce Mr. Herbert Kuah Dickson the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to the members of the Management Meeting.

He added that the MCE started his official duties on Monday 28th April, 2025 after being sworn into office on Wednesday 16th April, 2025. The MCE is the political head of the Assembly to ensure the implementation of government initiatives as the general staff are to supports him to achieve goals set for the municipality. The MCD further outlined the composition of the Assembly in relation to the various departments as stated in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) to the MCE. He finally congratulated and welcomed Hon. Kuah Dickson to the Assembly on behalf of the general staff and pledged his readiness to support him during his tenure of office. He however drew the attention of the MCE to fact that his performance will equally be compared to his predecessors. Therefore his success in office is dependent on the nature of operations he will bring on board.

Honorable Herbert Kuah Dickson extended a heartfelt welcome greetings and appreciation to the members of the management meeting for their preparing and a successful organization of the confirmation exercise. He stated there are a lot of works ahead to be accomplished and his appointment is accompanied with numerous tasks which require carefulness in all his activities. In view of that the success or failure of his term in office is partly dependent on the heads of department who are the technocrats to work with.

The MCE requested for team work and adherence to all established protocols in the Service. The organizational communication channels should be properly followed and he does not expect officers to by-pass the Municipal Coordinating Director to report issues to him.

On the performance of the Assembly in external assessment exercise organized by the Government and the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service as well as other stakeholders, he admonished the staff to always, work hard for the Assembly to perform better than previous outcomes. He stated that performance of the Municipal Assembly in the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPART) will continue to improve to uplift the image of the Assembly.

The Hon. MCE assured the members that he is ready to accept and work with developmental proposals and programs brought to his table as team members. On the contrary, he will not welcome backbiting as well as any false and negative reportage about fellow staff. The established structure of reporting should be followed to maintain cordial relationship between himself and the coordinating director as well as reciprocal respect among the general staff members.

Hon. Dickson informed the house that apart from the general vision of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly, he has his personal vision to complement the general vision of the Assembly. His focus to help improve upon the current state of the Municipality will be on;
