Independence Day Celebration, which falls on the 6th March is a national event where by the nation (Ghana) Celebrate to remember the history or toil of our forefathers who fought to gain independence for the Nation.

 In the Nzema East Municipal Assembly, the 6th March Celebration was held at Victoria Park in Axim. The Celebration took 2 days, the first day (5th March, 2023) was little time with the kids and the secondary was the actual celebration which included all Primary, JHS, SHS and others trade professions like the Seamstress, Fishermen, Market women etc.

Dignities who graced the occasion were MP (Evalue Ajomoro Gwira), MCE (Nzema East Municipal Assembly), MCD(NEMA), Chiefs, Heads of various department and unit staff(NEMA), Management and Staff from Education, Schools, Representatives from the security agencies (that is Police, Ambulance, Fire service, National Security, Immigration, Customs etc.) 

On the first day of the celebration which was 5th March, 2023 was very remarkable since kids from various schools in the Municipality exhibited a great marching skills and talents. Deserving kids were awarded accordingly. The next day which was 6th March, 2023 was also an event that we will always remember as various schools and other professions exhibited a great marching and talents display. Finally, deserving participant took home with awards.
