The Independence day of Ghana is a national holiday for the citizens of Ghana which is celebrated yearly. This day is an official state holiday for the citizens of Ghana both within and in the diaspora to honour and celebrate the heroes of Ghana who led the country to attain its independence.
Nzema East Municipal Assembly joined in the celebration of this august occasion as required of every district. As part of the celebration, there was a durbar organized which saw the attendance of dignitaries such as the Member of Parliament of Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira constituency, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nzema East Municipal and Chiefs from the various traditional councils. There was a parade by the various security services, cadet groups and schools within the municipailty. The various Heads of decentralized departments of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly were all present to grace the occasion.
