The Nzema East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Okpenyen this week donated some food items to the various Muslim communities in the Nzema East Municipal Assembly to support them as they go through Ramadan.
Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and during this holy month, Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk. This year’s Ramadan began on 12th April, 2021 and will end on 12th May, 2021.
Hon. Frank explained that the donation was his small contribution in ensuring that they had a successful fast. He donated bags of rice and sugar to the various Muslim communities.
He also expressed gratitude for the continuous support he received from the Muslim community and appealed to them to pray for his reappointment.
On usage of Victoria Park for the Eid Ul Fitr celebration, Hon. Frank explained that he had appealed to the contractor to withhold the start of the construction of the Victoria Park Redevelopment Phase II for a week to enable our Muslim brothers and sisters gather to celebrate the end of the Ramadan.
Hon. Frank Okpenyen donated to the following Muslim communities: 32 barrier, Anagye, Kegyina, Yediyesele, Ndataim, Bankyim, Police quarters, Ewoku and Ayisakro.
