NZEMA EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY – GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING.

The Nzema East Municipal Assembly convened its General Assembly Meeting on 26th

May, 2026 at the Assembly Complex Hall, Axim.

At the opening, the secretary informed the house that, the office of the presiding member had elapsed and there was therefore the need to elect a new presiding member to chair the meeting.

The Electoral Commission told the house that, a member must obtain at least Two-Thirds (2/3) of total votes cast to be elected as Presiding member of the Assembly.

After the first round up, Hon Kassum Braimah obtained nineteen (19) of total votes cast while Hon Yvette Enu-Kwesi also had sixteen (16). Members were called upon to vote again due to the fact that none of them was able to secure two-thirds (2/3) of the total votes cast. After the run-off, Hon. Yvette Enu-Kwesi had nineteen (19) and Hon. Kassum had sixteen (16). The election was postponed to a later date because the nominees again failed to secure the required votes.

The House then collectively agreed to nominate Hon. Daniel Manso to chair the meeting as the Ag. presiding member for the house.
