Following the letter received from the office of the Local Government service, a (2) day orientation and training programme was organized for all assembly members of The Nzema East Municipal Assembly.
On Saturday, 28th September, 2024, the management of Nzema East Municipal Assembly received two officers from the institute of local government service for the commencement of the said programme. (orientation & training).
The programme was held at the Municipal Health Directorate centre with a total of (35) thirty-five participants include (31) men and (4) women in all.
The programme outlined the following
1. General procedures of the assembly’s meetings
2. Legislative Mandates
3. Responsibilities of Assembly Members
4. Meetings of the Assembly
5. The tenets of the Rule of Law
6. The common By-Laws of the MMDAs
7. Committees of the District Assembly
Conclusion
At the end of the programme, all honorable members (participants) were equipped with needed knowledge, skills and tools to perform their duties effectively in various communities and also enhanced their understanding of the local government system.
