The Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA) team from the Head Office in Accra, in collaboration with the Western Regional Directorate, has undertaken a performance monitoring exercise at the Nzema East Municipal Assembly on the Spatial Planning and Human Settlement functions of the MMDAs.
The exercise, held on Wednesday, 3rd September, 2026 at the Assembly Conference Room, Axim, was aimed at assessing the spatial planning and human settlement functions of the Assembly.
The objective was to assess the functions of the Physical Planning Department, the Technical Sub-Committee, and the Spatial Planning Committee in relation to the preparation and implementation of the Spatial Development Framework (SDF), Structure Plans, and Local Plans.
In attendance were the Deputy CEO of LUSPA, the Western Regional Deputy Director and some staff from the Directorate.
The team commended the Assembly for its efforts and urged all stakeholders to ensure compliance with approved local plans to promote orderly and sustainable development.
