The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nzema East, Hon. Herbert Kuah Dickson, together with staff of the Assembly, inspected the ongoing rehabilitation road works from Gwira Wiawso to Gwira Ayinase on Thursday, 24th September, 2026.
The stretch, which had deteriorated and become difficult to use during the rainy season, is now seeing major improvement. Hon. Herbert Kuah Dickson acknowledged the support received from traditional authorities, residents, and individuals towards the ongoing road improvement project from Gwira Wiawso to Gwira Ayinase.
Specking on the project, the MCE noted that the chiefs of the various communities have played an important role in supporting the project, while residents have also contributed in diverse ways. The MCE expressed his appreciation to Nana Cobbinah, Reuben Arthur (King Kalusha), Yaw Nyame and Mr. Victor for their commitment and support towards the exercise.
According to Hon. MCE, the road being worked on is one of the busiest routes in the area and its completion will significantly improve transportation and connectivity, particularly as it serves as a link to Ankobra and other surrounding communities.
MCE acknowledged that some portion of the road deteriorated massively during the months of July and August due to the heavy rains. In response, the Assembly re-gravelling and improvement works to make the affected routes more accessible and motorable.
To support the exercise, the Assembly has deployed the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) Equipment to facilitate the exercise.
Hon. Kuah Dickson expressed hope that the ongoing works will progress as planned and ultimately improve road accessibility, connectivity and movement of people and goods within the Municipality.
